I love Narnia but I can, at least from my perspective, objectively say that Tolkien was a better writer. Of all the Pevensie children, Lucy is the closest to Aslan, and of all the human characters who visit Narnia, Lucy is perhaps the one who believes in Narnia the most.

Lewis describes his characters, writing about them in the form that children aged nine and above, and even some adults would enjoy. It recalls the awesome power of war, to pretend glory and abstract honor.
